Pathways to Foresight - A Seven Part DVD Series

If you thought that futurists are only interested in the external worlds of gadgets or technology, take another look. Foresight International and Bimillennial Press are pleased to present Pathways to Foresight. Pathways is a 7-part DVD study series, perfect for individual study or a range of classroom uses. It is the first teaching series to focus on critical and integral futures, showing how you can use futures methodologies to probe beneath the surface of change, in both the personal and social worlds. The series host is Dr Richard A Slaughter, a leading futurist and director of Foresight International, Brisbane. He is the also editor of the Knowledge Base of Future Studies, the leading multi-volume graduate textbook worldwide in futures studies, as well as many other publications.

Topics covered

If you are looking for a foundational series to enhance your own learning or your training at the corporate, college or graduate level, this series is for you. It shows how to cultivate personal and organisational foresight and to use forward views in socially useful ways. The seven study segments are:

1. The Making of a Futurist
2. Critical Futures Studies
3. The Knowledge Base of Future Studies
4. Foresight and the Civilisational Challenge
5. Foresight Methodologies and Implementation
6. How to Create Social Foresight, and
7. Integral Futures - A Deeper and Broader Approach

Package contents

In addition to the seven video presentations, the full package contains the following resources available for download:

• Teacher's guide, including black and white powerpoint diagrams
• Student / participant guide / outlines and discussion questions

Bonus resource

An added bonus included in the package is a rare audio recording - ‘A Conversation on Integral Futures’ - between Ken Wilber and Richard Slaughter. Wilber is the undisputed master of integral thinking and methods, while Slaughter is the first futurist anywhere to have applied this powerful perspective within the futures / foresight context. This historic conversation marks a new stage in the development of FS and should not be missed.
